‘Sleepy Hollow’ 3×01 Synopsis and Promo Photos

The new season of Sleepy Hollow is right around the corner, and while we don’t have a trailer yet (!), we do finally have some information on the premiere.  TV After Dark has the official synopsis and promotional photos:

With old enemies gone, Abbie and Crane are apparently moving on with their lives. However, the discovery of a mysterious tablet shows that there may be a new dark prophecy surrounding our Witnesses. The two team together, with the help of an old amulet, and continue their epic takedown of the forces of evil in the all-new “I, Witness” Season Three Premiere episode of SLEEPY HOLLOW.

Should be interesting.  Especially considering that Crane and Abbie haven’t seen or spoken to each other in nearly a year.  I wonder how that reunion is going to go.  Are there going to be hard feelings?  Awkwardness?  Or will they slide right back into that familiar camaraderie that we’ve come to expect from those two?  We don’t have too long to wait.

Sleepy Hollow returns on FOX on Oct. 1st at 9 pm/EST.

  1. I’m finding it hard to work up any enthusiasm for this show. I was pretty happy with how they ended the season last year, but all the advance publicity about adding Nikki Reed and losing Orlando has totally killed any buzz for me. The center of this show is the Abbie/Ichabod relationship and they seem to be doing everything they can to piddle on it. Let’s add new love interests for them (’cause that worked so well last season)! Let’s break them up for a year!

Jaysus, just go with your strength and stop messing with the formula that made the show a success in the first place!

    1. At this point, I would be very surprised if the new show runners focused on the Abbie/Ichabod partnership.

The addition of Nikki Reed is clearly another attempt by Fox to reach their desired target audience – young white women.  The pairing of Ichabod Crane and Betsy Ross and casting a former boyfriend/good friend of Abbie’s are moves to sideline the original partnership (with that amazing chemistry) that made Sleepy Hollow so popular in the first place.

If the ratings do not increase with Betsy Ross at the helm, I feel the show is doomed.

      1. I don’t get why they keep trying to downplay Ichabod’s and Abbie’s relationship if that’s what they’re doing.  No one did that on Bones, or Castle, or The Mentalist, or X-Files, etc.  Even when they were with someone else, the core relationship was always still front and center, and there was never any doubt about their true feelings for each other even if they didn’t realize it.  Not it’s like with Ichabbie, they feel the need to keep playing games and act like it’s a big no-no.  I don’t understand the thought process here.

I don’t think anyone expects then to get together anytime soon, but they won’t even play with any real “will they/won’t they” on the show.  Why?  What’s the problem?  Especially when there’s so much chemistry between the leads.  Maybe they will since Katrina is gone and the new showrunner is doing things his way, but it doesn’t seem like they’re going out of their way to promote it.

      2. And I truly don’t understand why FOX feels such a burning desire to get the young white women demo when the show was a big hit when they were doing what they were doing in season one with all the diversity and the main focus being on the Ichabbie relationship.
