See the Title sequence for “Underground”

WGN has dropped the title sequence for their drama Underground. Underground is the story of a group of slaves using the Underground Railroad to escape slavery on a Georgia plantation. Singer/Songwriter John Legend is producing and in charge of the music. He’s singing background on the theme song.

This doesn’t like like we are going to get revisionist “happy slave” history. As creator Joe Polanski explained during the winter TCAa, “The more I learned, I saw how dangerous and heroic it was to run.”

WGN previously had released a couple of trailers, you can see them here. And yes, that is Jurnee Smollett-Bell you see there and yes, Jussie Smollet, her bro, is slated to make a guest starring appearance.

Underground premieres Wednesday, March 9 on WGN.
